Matrix Providers has a civilian opportunity for a Licensed Clinical Psychologist to provide full-time care within the Behavioral Health Optimization Program (BHOP) at the United States Air Force Academy located in Colorado Springs, CO. The Government will accept any state license.
- Role: Licensed Clinical Psychologist, BHOP Program
- Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM | 40 hours per week

- Period of Performance: Current contract ends November 2027, with possible contract renewal.
- Start Date: Pending credentials & security approvals, which can take 6-8 weeks.
Qualification requirements:
- Must possess a doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited psychology program; and completed an APA-accredited internship.
- Must possess an active U.S. state license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Must possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- Must possess a minimum of 2 full years of recent experience working as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist within an outpatient mental health clinic.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours and professional staff conferences, including Quality Improvement meetings, professional staff meetings, and others as required.
- Conduct applied research and clinical investigations in clinical/behavioral health psychology.
- Responsible for applying psychological procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidenced-based therapies, and limited psychological testing/psycho-diagnostic testing.
- Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy, and couples therapy, as well as alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.
- Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts, as required.
- Maintain accurate and current notes in patients' mental health records and produce reports of evaluation and/or treatment as required.
- Participate in military-specific training (e.g., Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress).
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to address complex diagnostic and treatment issues and provide counseling in a short-term treatment environment.
